Frequently Asked Questions

Q: My knife is rusting, is this normal, and how do I keep it from happening?
A: Yes it is normal for Moore Maker knives to rust and or discolor over time if they are not kept clean and/or oiled. This is due to the high Carbon content in our knife steel. Carbon steel will hold a sharper edge for a longer period of time than most other knives, and can be honed to a razor edge, unlike many stainless steel knives. The trade-off for sharpness and edge durability is lack of corrosion resistance, but if you keep your Moore Maker oiled regularly with either knife oil, vegetable oil, or cooking spray it will last a lifetime. Even with proper oiling your Moore Maker will darken over time as the Carbon in the steel migrates toward the surface, this is called seasoning, and after a knife is fully seasoned it will not rust or corrode nearly as easily.
Q: Can I get knives in the old serial number colors, or will you be making these colors again in the future.
A: We have no plans to reintroduce past serial numbered colors, but please feel free to inquire about availability of past serial numbered editions.
Q: Where is Moore Maker located?
A: We are located in Matador, Texas. Matador is at the bottom of the Texas panhandle, slightly North and East of Lubbock, TX.
Q: Do you ship outside the U.S.A.
A: Yes, we do ship outside the continental United States; however, due to the lack of reliable worldwide shipping services we require payment in full before items are shipped. Further, any items shipped outside the U.S.A. are considered "buy at your own risk", because we can not guarantee that these items will reach their final destination.
Q: How much more do serial numbered knives cost?
A: Serial-Numbered limited edition knives cost $15.00 extra, on top of the published knife price. When you order a serial numbered knife we automatically record your name, so that when that knife is offered in another serial number edition, you can have the first opportunity to buy it. The limited edition knives come with a blank shield on the back side of the handle, you can have your name, initials, brand or company logo engraved on this space.
Q: Do you take credit cards?

Q: How much do you charge for shipping?
A: We charge $13.00 for orders less than or equal to $100.00, from $101.00 to $500.00 we charge $20.00, from $501.00 on up shipping is $25.00.
